There are plenty of jobs in Decatur as well, mostly focused heavily in Management and Administration, Oil and Gas, and Transportation of goods. For the commuter, Decatur is perfect. Work in the city, without living with the noise.
Decatur’s schools are rated as some of the highest performing schools in Texas with graduation rates at 96.1%, 6.6% higher than the state average. The high school football team is the Decatur Eagles, and the Big Blue Marching Band is the school band. Friday Nights are never boring in Decatur, as the Friday Night Lights take over the town as the Eagles take the field. This small town rallies around its students and its student athletes. The Decatur Chamber of Commerce Recognizes one academically outstanding student per month at its monthly luncheon.
